She has been an advocate for professional dogwalkers since she noticed that the pet care industry was growing in popularity. She realized that a distinction needed to be made between those who were conducting their businesses in an ethical, responsible and respectful manner and those who were not.
Dianne has been to numerous City Hall Meetings in the past making deputations on the subject of professional dogwalking and enlightening City Council that one must have professional experience in the handling of dogs in order to be deemed professional. The word professional does not just mean that one is receiving money for the service. Dianne has lobbied for off leash parks to be implemented and is active in the preservation of green space throughout Toronto and surrounding areas.
The Professional Dog Walkers Association was featured on Canada AM and Dianne was featured for the Association on Breakfast Television on City T.V.
In addition to being a published author, Dianne has written many articles for newspapers and pet magazines, including Pets Quarterly and City Dog.
Her dog Kylie, her full name being, "Princess Kylie of the tall grass," was featured in a short film directed by Andrew Hull of the Canadian Film Center to which Kylie received a full screen credit for the character of "Milo" and Dianne received full screen credit for "dog wrangler". Kylie is a four year old, German Sheppard/Husky Cross and shows dimples in her cheeks when she smiles. She was a stray dog found by the Toronto Humane Society at 12 weeks old. Kylie is now in her third and final home.
Dianne is Certified in Pet First Aid and a Certified Evaluator of the Canadian Canine Good Citizen test. Formerly a Torontonian, Dianne now resides up north on her 16 acre hobby farm where she boards her client's family pets in her home at her leisure. Dianne still walks dogs in the Beaches area in the City of Toronto on an occasional basis. You may contact Dianne at www.jogadog.ca or at 1-800-275-0910. or at jogadog@xplornet.com
